OT recruiters?

I am really perplexed with my job search. I'm starting to think maybe I should try for a job working with adults again. However, this is a struggle because I don't understand at all the world of recruiters for OT. How does that work? And how do I know if its a good recruiting company? I see ads for SNFs and nursing homes and I am MAYBE interested but we all know some SNFs are evil and some are not, so how do I know if I got a good one? Hmmm.

Thinking, thinking, thinking. NEED HELP! :)

recruiters freq. Take a cut of your pay they negotiate for you, so sometimes your actual workplace feels pinched based on that. Also, if a site is using an expensive headhunter or travel therapy co, they likely arent finding a full time person easily (exception- some comps only use outside service for therapy). Some services also demand high productivity on top of facility reqs. Email me and we can talk more, also, prepare for 6000 spam comments :-) cheryl

Like anything there is good and bad. Decisions are always hard, but the worst thing may be to NOT make a decision :) I work for Ardor Health, we help therapists all over the country find work. Give me a call and I will forward you to a recruiter. Hear what they have to say and then make a choice :) No one is going to force you into anything, you always have the final say. Regardless good luck with your professions! I admire you for making that choice.

Hi. I'm a COTA in IL. I came in contact with some companies when I attended an ILOTA conference. Try going to an OT association conference in your area. Sometimes they have recruiters from various companies there and you can talk to them in person. Also, it's a good place to network and get opinions from other therapists.

A good company I can suggest is Medical Staffing Network. I do PRN for them. They have the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval and so far it's been a good experience. They are located nationwide.

Hope this helps and good luck on your search :)
